Informed by this historical perspective, careful consideration and care is given to each element of the traditional manufacturing of their exquisite product range.  

Beginning with the primary ingredient; Japanese mugwort, a perennial related to the chrysanthemum family, which has a unique and rich nutrient profile. Kobayashi-Rouho gather mugwort from Japanese mountainous regions of Goushuu's Mount Ibiki, Ecchuu, and Echigo where the mugwort plant thrives beyond compare with any other environment. In these lush and majestic regions the mugwort sprouts twice as many of the light gray hairs on the underside of the leaf, from which the essential and active compounds are derived.

Through a time-honored and refined 6 step process, the raw Japanese mugwort is processed and then transformed and packed ready for use. The result are highly perfected moxa products with perceivable quality, optimised for ideal rate of ignition and inherent moisture level for their specific application.
